Message From the Chief .

Hello,

Thank you for spending some time to visit our website. The Mt.Gretna Fire Department has a proud history of serving our community. That spirit of service continues as we move forward into the future. The men and women of the Mt. Gretna Fire Department are here to serve you. From our frontline Firefighters to our Fire Police Officers, from our Community Volunteers to our Emergency Medical Staff, we are committed to providing the highest levels of service possible.

“The mission of the Mt.Gretna Fire Department is to protect lives, property and the environment, improving the quality of life and safety of the community.”

These words summarize what we do, but it is the men and women of the Mt.Gretna Fire Department that embrace these words on a daily basis that continue to make a difference in our community. The Mt.Gretna Fire Department is an “All risk” department, meaning we will respond to the needs of the community, regardless of the nature of the incident and begin the process of solving the problem to lead to a positive outcome. The Mt. Gretna Fire Department is comprised of specialists in the areas of structural firefighting, Hazardous Materials response, Urban Search and Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, Wild land Firefighting and strategic planning and command and control. Finally, every member of the Mt. Gretna Fire Department is trained in the Emergency Medical field.

As the Fire Chief in Mt.Gretna, I am proud to represent such a fine organization. I am impressed on a daily basis with the compassion and resourcefulness of the men and women of our Department and their commitment to the residents, businesses and visitors of Mt.Gretna. As the Mt. Gretna Fire Department moves into our next chapter of service we will continually seek ways to re-think how we provide our service in an effort to be more efficient, more adaptable and more responsive to the needs of our community.

It is our commitment to you that we stand ready to assist you in your time of need day or night, with compassion, professionalism, respect and dignity.

Best,

Travis Haak

Fire Chief
